Miniature punch needle is an old art, creating pieces that mimic rug hooking only much smaller. The design is punched from the back using a punch needle tool, creating tiny loops on the front side. Detail can be created by changing thread color or using variegated thread. In this class you will learn the basics of miniature punch needle, as well as tips and techniques. Thread choices, hoops/frames and fabric will be discussed. The project, The Heart-in-Hand is a symbol of a heart in an open palm, and is symbolic of charity, given from the heart. Kit includes pattern, fabric and thread. Punchneedle and hoop will be available for use in the class and available for purchase after.
Bring to class: sharp scissors (preferably a curved embroidery scissor). We endorse Kai scissors. They will be available for purchase at the Attic Heirlooms booth.
You must be a registered attendee to sign up for any classes. This keeps all costs down for everyone :)
