This class is being held thanks to much demand and the funds from the Barbara Brown Scholarship fund. When Barb died in 2015 she left behind a treasure trove of rug hooking supplies. Her sister asked that they all be sold off and the money go to her two favorite camps. We are lucky enough to be one of them! Deciding a fair way to use the funds was very hard. We wanted to keep it simple and we knew in an instant that Barb would have loved the thought of new Hookers being created due to her collection. Because of the amount raised we were able to be very generous with the scholarship amounts. This class includes admittance to the Harbor Hookin' for Tuesday and wednesday, your lunches, teachers fees for the Tuesday am class, your choice of one of the 6 kits offered, rug hooking hoop, rug hook, scissors, instruction booklet, snippet dish and a tote bag to keep it all in! You need to bring NOTHING! The total cost of the class, kit and two day attendance is $250.00, with $75.00 of it being paid for you from the scholarship fund! When you arrive at the Center you will check in and be shown to your class room. All of your stuff will be waiting there for you. You will spend the morning learning the basics and getting started on your project. After lunch you will move out to the ball room in the large Rug Hooking area and join the rest of the Rug Hookers! There will be a reserved table for the beginner class and your teacher and the crew from Searsport Rug Hooking will be handy for the rest of the day and on Wednesday to help you with any issue you encounter. This class fee includes two days at the Hookin' you can add the third day, including your lunch, for only $25.00 more. So if you have always wanted to learn or have a friend that wants to join you, here is their chance!
