How about 4 days of instruction, learning, sharing, laughing, meeting new friends and seeing some old ones too! All under the guidance of Michele Micarelli, one of our most admired teachers in the industry! This will be an open class and you can work on any project you like under Michele’s guidance. If you love color or want to learn more about using it, if you want out of your box and to try something new and exciting, this workshop is for you. Michele has been honored many times over the years for her designs, color sense and creativity. She will push you to create something special. 
About Michele

Michele Micarelli is a rug hooking artist whose main objective is to unleash her creativity and aid others in their search. The classes she teaches are full of storytelling and laughter. She has been a rug hooker since 1991 and prefers mixed cuts and linen for lots of detail and a painterly effect.  She is a certified McGown teacher. She is proud to have served on the A.T.H.A. Region 1 board of directors for ten years. She is past President of the Northern McGown Teacher’s Workshop. She served as judge for 15 years at Craft’s Adventure in New England and is proud to have had her rugs appear in several editions of The Celebration of Rug Hooking and has also been a judge there in the past. She is a member of the Celebration Rug Hooking Hall of fame. Her rugs appear in books by Linda Coughlin, Jessie Turbayne, Mary Sheppherd Burton, Rae Harrell and Amy Oxford. She has been in several issues of Rug Hooking Magazine with articles that featured her dying skills and rugs made with imagination. She has taught workshops at Asilomar, Shelburne Museum, The ATHA Region 1 Rug School, The Burlington Ontario Rug School, Cambria, Caraway, The Star of Texas, Little River School, The Green Mountain Guild School and The Franklin Retreat, The Rug Hooking Guild school of Nova Scotia, among many others.
She was honored by The Green Mountain Guild in the “Strong Woman” show and has received the “Silver Hook Award” from the Newtown Historical Society Rug Show for her devotion to promoting fiber arts. She was our “hooker of the Year” at The Hooked Rug Museum of North America, 2014 where she is currently serving as a director at large.
This Class includes Michele’s instruction, lunch and light snacks through out the day. Please let us know of any food allergies so we can make sure lunches and snacks can be enjoyed by everyone! 

FROM MICHELEI am delighted to be teaching a four-day Wide Open class at Searsport Rugs! The class will be held February 4-7 from 9:30-3:00. I will be in touch ahead of time to plan your projects. You may do an original, plan a new project which I can draw or help you design. Feel free to order a pattern from my website, from Searsport or any other designer. You may also work on an ongoing project that you may need help with.I teach all cuts, styles and skill levels. The class will be full of hand dyed wool and fun.
