Karen Yaffe is coming to Searsport! 1/18/25

This is going to be a fun unique class! While you will work from a “kit” no two will be the same as YOU will choose your wool each step of the way. 
You will create a panel that can be used on a pillow or a tote bag or on a jacket. We will have tote bags available for purchase or you can bring your own, but the jacket you will need to have prior to class. Use one you have or check out Amazon for some nice soft colors and in longer fuller cuts like Karen is modeling. 
The class includes your wool, pattern and instructions to create a 12x12 panel with three flowers and assorted leaves, lunch, snacks and beverages. Extra wool packs will be available to make your design larger to fit all over the jacket or wrap around the tote bags. So many options and it’s going to be a blast! Karen is fun and creates designs that are beautifully simple, but she’s going to stretch your imagination with an assortment of stitches added to the work that brings simple appliqué to a whole new level!

If you are creating a jacket like Karen’s you will not receive the panel in your kit, but  you will receive 13 flower packs! 

Basic info: The class includes instructions, the pattern, wool for three flowers and assorted, leaves, lunch, snacks, beverages, Milliners needle, knotty pad, fusable, threader and felt ball. 
You will need to bring your favorite threads, scissors, chenille needles, a personal light if you like them, a sweater as our classroom runs cool, a fan if you over heat ;) 

About the thread needs. Karen works with valdani #12 pearl cotton. Mom and I like #8. We stock all colors in #8 and many in #12. We will have all the colors Karen uses on her tote and her jacket in for this workshop. If you already have a lot of thread in your color pallet bring it along and then you only will have to add colors you need for your flowers that you might not have. We feel it’s silly not to use what you have :)
