All Bolt Wool
We carry wool from many mills for our stock bolt wool and our base dying fabrics. You can order in fat quarters, half yards or full yards for your stash. All of the bolt wools choices need to be washed and dried to full them for use. This shows everything we carry online for wools. We also have separated the collections of wool grouped by color to make it easier to find something in particular you may be looking for.
Over dyed wool does not have to be washed.

To wash your wool we use warm water and kookaburra wash with a Warm wash and rinse and then into the dryer with a big towel to help fluff it and speed up the drying. We use a front load washer in the studio and it works fine.
FULLED OR FELTED? Many say it’s really nothing more then potatoe/potahhto LOL but there are people who use FELTED wool fabric for crafts. It is wool that’s been washed in hot water with heavy agitation. Think of a sweater that’s been washed in hot water and it shrinks, THATS FELTED WOOL! It’s tight and thick and heavy and has a bit of a ruffle to it sometimes depending on the weave. 99.9% of the wool sold in fabric shops ready to use is FULLED wool. They are just calling it FELTED.... but in reality it’s only about half felted. Our frustration is when customers calls or comes in and think they have to have “felted” when what they really want is only half way there. And we can’t convince them other wise no matter what. There are places that sell FELTED wool, you do not want that for Rug Hooking. It will work for appliqué. (And all this is not to be confused with “wool felt” that is a non woven product not suitable for rug Hooking, but you can appliqué with it.)
