Some New FUN is coming 2/12-2/14 and we are so excited to share it with you! This is a throwback to our rug hooking days in Maine when we were brand new and located in the wonderful old sea captains' home in Searsport Maine! Surrounded by ancient apple trees, gardens, good food and wool! Then we added the joy and laughter of groups of happy hookers and stitchers! Over 25 years later, here we are going back to small group gatherings in the shop and no longer traveling or hosting events outside the store. We hope you can join us soon in our Irmo SC location! So, get your friends and spread the word and let's all meet at Searsport! Bring some old ones and gain some new ones and let's all create together
Chris, Julie and Neil look forward to having you for 3 days of creating, hooking and stitching, we will play and create and do many things over our time together. Do you have something special you want to learn? Let us know and we will make sure to work in some time doing it! There is probably many who will enjoy that too! We will have these fun creative days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday each time. But we invite you to join us on the Thursday before too! While this is not part of the package it’s our open hooking and will let you settle into the classroom and get the layout of things and be ready to hit the ground running on Friday morning! please note Thursday does not include lunches.  late winter is a fun time to get away after the holidays and stay in where it’s warm and cozy and play with wool! Hot soups, Chris’s homemade bread and maybe Julie’s bread pudding with whiskey sauce to keep us warm in the afternoon! Early February will be perfect! let's meet for Valentines!!

What will we do?
Our 3 days will be filled with creating and laughter and fun in our classroom. With limited attendees each time, you will have plenty of space to create!  Do you have a project you need help finishing? Stuck on colors? Not sure about finishing? Or do you want to start something totally new? We will talk before you arrive to make sure you will be as busy as you want to be while here. If you just want to work on your current project and meet new people, then that’s great! You will have time to relax and renourish your creative juices! Think of this as an intimate, private Hookin’!  lol Except there will be chickens in the background lol

What will you eat?
Each day we will start with a morning munchie and then a light lunch made special for you! Julie and Chris love big fresh salads, homemade soups and there’s always a yummy dessert. There are snacks available all day to make sure you're not too weak to play! Do you have a special diet? Please let us know and we will make sure to accommodate your needs. Between our farm stand and Neil’s gardens we eat pretty healthy and well!

Coming from “Away” need  Lodging?
We have two great hotels less than 3 miles from the shop. And about 15 more only 4 miles away. Evening dining has overwhelming choices from fine dining at the Bistro to some dang good burgers at Lucky’s all with in just a couple of miles. Or venture into Columbia to even more choices!

What do you need to bring?
What ever you need or like to use during your creating time. Scissors, hooks, needles, special lighting, eye glasses? But rest assured if you forget something we have ALL of that. Well maybe not your glasses ;)
If you’re a hooker or puncher and don’t want to travel with your frame let us know and Neil will have one ready for you when you arrive. If your flying in or even driving a distance they tend to be bulky and cumbersome so please feel free to use any in our classroom while your here. There is no charge for frame use during any organized hooking or punching session with us.
We also have 2 Beeline cutters for your use with blades from #3 up to #10 in the classroom.
