We recommend tracing on a
firm card stock or card board so you can trace it many times easily
Leave at least a inch between each drawing so you have space to hook, punch or stitch and still cut between them leaving 1/2 inch to work with.

I used hot glue but any firm glue will work. I used tacky glue if I don’t have a glue gun handy.
Make sure it’s well glued on the back. On the back I go an 1/8 of an inch outside the finished ornament and 1/8 over the last row of hooking or punching allow to set up or dry. Now cut close to the edge of the ornament leaving the least amount of backing possible on.
Now I choose my backing color, I love the solid wools. But any fun fabric will work. Cut 4-6 inches of tiny twill tape to make the hanger and glue to the back of the ornament at the top. Now I run a lot of glue all over the back of the ornament and heavy around the edges. Then press it on the wool making sure I have at least 1/4 of edges, if I go close to the edge. Use pinking shears to trim the extra wool away and make a decorative edge.

It PDF is simply the outline of the shapes we used for the ornament swap.

You can see how we did them in the video from 5/8/26
