Oxford Punch Needle Sheep Ornament
Rug punching projects are a great way to use your yarn stash! In this make it and take it beginner workshop, you will learn the basics of “Oxford Punch Needle Rug Hooking”. We will be creating a colorful Bellwether sheep ornament. We will start out with the basics.
Frame and Oxford Punch Needle #10 Regular will be provided for use during the class and for those who wish to purchase them.
Everyone will leave the workshop with a finished 6” X 7” Bellwether sheep ornament and the knowledge and skills needed to start a larger project
LEVEL: Everyone is welcome. No prior punch needle rug hooking experience is required, and it is great for those who would like to review the basics.
MATERIAL KIT INCLUDES: Pattern drawn on monk’s cloth, hand-dyed wool rug yarn, sheep base with bell and hanger, wood buttons, and wool strips. There will be a choice of colorful buttons.
Kathy raises heritage Karakul sheep for their long, coarse rug fiber. The yarn is spun, and she dyes the colors by hand. She became certified in 2014 to teach Oxford Punch Needle. Teaching is her passion, and she introduces students to endless creative rug hooking and punch opportunities.
