Volunteering at the Hookin' on Thursday

We’re excited to welcome everyone to Columbia this July for the Hookin’! Many have asked how they can help out, and as you know, these events take a lot of work. One of our top priorities is keeping all the beautifully hooked, punched, and stitched pieces safe while on display. While the rug show is only accessible from the ballroom after check-in, we still need 6-8 volunteers to sit among the displays to ensure nothing is touched. Vendors teaching classes or doing demos may also need booth sitters. Feel free to bring your hooking or stitching along while keeping watch—hundreds of visitors will be stopping by, and you’ll likely get plenty of questions about your work. It’s a great chance to be a Wooly Ambassador for our art form! We’ll have a small thank-you gift as a token of our appreciation for your help, and please make sure your sign-up time doesn’t conflict with any classes you’re taking.
